There are still people in developing countries. But the proportion of men and women are not equal at all. Women in developing countries are lagging behind in the use of the Internet. গত এক দশকে সারা বিশ্বে ইন্টারনেট ব্যবহারকারীর সংখ্যা বেড়েছে দ্রুতগতিতে। ব্যবসা-বাণিজ্য থেকে শুরু করে দৈনন্দিন কাজের প্রায় প্রতিটি ক্ষেত্রেই সবাই ব্যবহার করছে ইন্টারনেট। থেমে নেই উন্নয়নশীল দেশগুলোর জনগণও। তবে এর অনুপাত কিন্তু নারী-পুরুষে সমান নয় মোটেও। উন্নয়নশীল দেশের নারীরা অনেক পিছিয়ে আছে ইন্টারনেট ব্যবহারে। যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের সংবাদভিত্তিক ওয়েবসাইট এনবিসি নিউজের এক প্রতিবেদন বলছে এ কথা।
